The University of Canterbury Law Students’ Society (“LAWSOC”) is the predominant law society on campus. LAWSOC hosts a variety of events, so there are many ways and opportunities to participate. Such examples include:
- Social events: LAWSOC hosts several social events throughout the year, including a cocktail night, law ball, law camp and sports competition with the Otago law society.
- Competitions: LAWSOC also hosts several competitions for 2nd year students and above such as mooting, witness examination, negotiations, client interviewing and paper presentations. For more information about competitions click here.
- Tutorials: LAWSOC hosts tutorials for all compulsory subjects in the LLB, and essay workshops for major assignments (eg; public law, torts).
