Competitions Explained

WitEx
Witness examination in trial advocacy competitions involves questioning witnesses through direct and cross-examination. It hones courtroom strategy, argumentation, and quick thinking under pressure.

Client Interviewing
Client interviewing competitions test a law student’s ability to gather information, build rapport, and provide legal guidance. They assess communication, problem-solving, and ethical awareness in a simulated client meeting.

Mooting
Mooting is a simulated court proceeding where law students argue hypothetical cases. It develops advocacy, research, and reasoning skills, focusing on legal principles rather than witness testimony.

Negotiations
A law competition in negotiations simulates real-world legal discussions where teams represent clients to reach agreements. It tests communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking, often judged by legal professionals.

Paper Presentation
Paper presentation competitions allow law students to showcase legal research and argumentation. Participants present their papers, defend their ideas, and respond to questions from judges or peers.
