Sports

The Sports Officer is responsible for encouraging law students to get involved in sport and creating opportunities for students to connect outside of the classroom. Whether you are a competitive athlete or just looking to try something new, we aim to make sport accessible and enjoyable for everyone in the law school community.

Throughout the year we organise a range of sporting opportunities, including our annual sports exchange with the Otago University Law Students’ Society, where students travel south for a weekend of friendly competition and social events.

We also coordinate our LAWSOC sports teams, including football and netball, giving students the chance to represent the law school and meet others across different year groups.

For those keen to try something new, we also host “Learn to Play” events throughout the year, which are designed to be fun, relaxed sessions where students can give a new sport a go and meet others in the process.
